We have about three weeks left in the school year and I was thinking how much this dropoutmyth project has really changed me - I'm such a different person now. Don't get me wrong - I still challenge some of the Church's teachings, I even disagree with a handful of them, but I've learned that if I put my faith and heart into something (this project for example), nothing can stop me.

I truly hope that people enjoy reading our content. I just felt like posting today and thanking those for coming here and sharing their faith with us - it is affecting lives.

Hello, again...

Posted April 17 by Connor M.

So, it's been a good two months since I've blogged... and I feel like a slacker. I apologize for my absences, but I'm back! I have been very busy with my extra-curriculars and baseball is in full swing!

One of my friends had some family pass away this week and I came to realize truly how lucky we are. We've got our family, friends, faith, different abilities - too many things to count. All the while, we take them all for granted. This is a very short passage, but I want you to please do one thing: Thank God for life and the experience we have while living it.

Pax again,

CM

They are the 10 COMMANDMENTS, not the 10 suggestions...

Well, happy Valentine's Day! Yes, I've realized I have already broken my promise about posting every few days, but I'm doing my best (and am incredibly busy!)

Anywho, what's up with my title today you ask? I don't really know... it's just something that's stuck with me since I was a little kid... I saw a billboard that said that and it's stuck with me.

I talked to Fr. Mark Link, SJ this past weekend. He was one of the most influential people in my life, outside of baseball, and it was sad to see him go on to Chicago. I helped him run his website, staygreat - check it out! It's basically the same thing as Dropoutmyth, just aimed at an older audience. Our conversation was one of my "high" points this weekend.

He drilled into my head the importance of reflection - how nobody can get any better without realizing their failures, learning from them, and then improving the self. This is something St. Ignatius of Loyola taught, also, and I agree completely.

My closing words for today: realize what you have done wrong, reflect on it, and think of ways to improve yourself.

Part deux

Posted Feb 7th by Connor M.

Hello all. Well, today started off in the gutter by bombing my math test and getting back a theology quiz grade which really frustrated me. Have you ever had those days that you just aren't happy? Well, today was one for me.

Something hit me, though, when I was driving home from school. I saw a bus stop loaded with people, while I passed them in a $25,000 car as a 17-year old. Yeah, here I am - 17, and there they are - working adults.

Now I know not all of us are out there to save the world, but it just made me realize how lucky I am. I don't know, today's blog may not be the most compelling thing you've ever read, but just stop for a moment and think of how lucky we are to be in the situation(s) we're in today. Hopefully, your thoughts "hit" you, too.

The Adventure

Hopefully by now, through reading my reflections, you have realized that I am a very direct person. I don't like to cut corners or be a "softy", I like to say things how they are, and that's it.

On this blog, you are going to find a lot of unanswered questions because that's how I think - in spurts that I either never remember or can't find the answer to. I am very opinionated at times and hopefully that will keep you coming back for more entertainment and insight.

On this page, you will find a (hopefully) daily recollection of thoughts, words, and/or actions that provoked thought throughout my day. If you would like (I would love you to), shoot me an e-mail that reflects on something(s) I have said on here.

Like I said, I just hope to provoke thought here - that is my goal.

Enjoy!
